Vacancy: Clinical Engagement Practitioner

Caafi Health is looking for a Clinical Engagement Practitioner to join our team in Bristol and nearby areas, in a role supported by Macmillan Cancer Support.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference for people affected by cancer. You’ll work alongside individuals and families from their first concerns through treatment and beyond, helping them understand their care, navigate services and feel supported throughout their experience.

About the role

As our Clinical Engagement Practitioner, you’ll help make sure that nobody in our communities has to face cancer alone.

You will:

  • Support people with cancer from their first worries through to life after treatment.

  • Explain health information in clear, accessible language so people and their families understand what is happening and what support is available.

  • Help prevent referrals and appointments from getting lost between services.

  • Work collaboratively with hospitals, GPs and local community groups to improve access to care and help reduce health inequalities.

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position on a two-year fixed-term contract, based in Bristol and nearby areas.

Salary: £34,500 per year.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a compassionate and confident health professional who can build trust with people and work effectively across health and community services.

You should be:

  • A registered nurse or health professional registered with the NMC or HCPC.

  • Experienced in cancer care or supporting people with long-term conditions.

  • Familiar with the NHS and the challenges created by health inequalities.

  • A strong listener and communicator who can build trusted relationships with patients, families and professionals.

Experience of working with global majority communities would also be particularly valuable.

Why join Caafi Health?

Caafi Health is a Community Interest Company focused on community, wellbeing and empowerment. Our work is rooted in helping people access the information, care and support they need, particularly where barriers or inequalities may otherwise leave people underserved.

In this role, you’ll have the chance to connect clinical care with community support and help make cancer services easier to understand, navigate and access.
