Lung Cancer Awareness Event

Lung cancer remains the UK’s biggest cancer killer, claiming around 35,000 lives each year – more than breast, prostate, and pancreatic cancers combined. But there is hope: the new NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme is already changing lives, detecting over 5,000 cancers so far, with more than 75% found at an early stage when treatment is far more effective. Using quick, painless low-dose CT scans in community locations like supermarket car parks, the programme targets people aged 55–74 at high risk, offering the chance to save thousands more lives each year through early detection.
